Monique has lost an amazing 80 pounds since having both of her children, read on to find out how she did it!✌️❤️

What led you to want to make your lifestyle transformation and where are you at now?

I was never the “skinny” girl. I was never overweight either but I never had to workout to maintain my weight. I was not into fitness whatsoever. After I had my first son the weight fell off pretty easy with breastfeeding. I held on to about 10 pounds of that pregnancy weight. Then, while trying to get pregnant with my second I gained about 20 pounds and then gained another 60 pounds during that pregnancy! That left me with 90 pounds to lose! I have lost 80 of those as of today. I’m not so stressed out about that number anymore though because I’m in the best shape of my life right now. I have muscles I never knew I had, and I feel strong which is more important than any number on the scale.

What was the hardest part about making your transformation and how did you overcome it?

The hardest part was the temptation of having lots of unhealthy foods around. I have a hubby who likes to eat all the unhealthy things… Also, cocktails! I love my cocktails and so that was difficult to cut back on. I just kept reminding myself of my goals and visualizing how I would feel when I fit back into my old clothes or reached a certain weight. That kept me going.

Do you have any favourite fitness resources or information sources?

I have lost all the weight with the use of Beachbody Programs. I loved being able to work out at home and not have to lug my kids around. I believe in these programs so much I became a coach myself and now get to help others on their journeys. Also, the MyFitness Pal App is great for tracking your food!

If you could only offer one piece of advice, technique or strategy for women looking to transform themselves, what would it be?

Stay CONSISTENT and have PATIENCE! If you’re not seeing results right away, keep going! I had a hard time with this part because I like instant results…

I learned that slow and steady weight loss is better and even if it’s just a 1/2 pound a week, that adds up!

Any final things you want to mention?

Have fun and enjoy your life during the process too. Don’t say “I’ll be happy when I weigh x amount” I look back now and regret not enjoying certain moments as much because I was just so focused on reaching a certain weight before I felt I could really enjoy myself and be happy.
