Preparation is key!
One of the most common (if not the most common) reason people fail at changing their eating habits, is that they don’t prepare or put in any forethought to their eating routines! So let’s go through a step by step process to preparing for the week ahead!
- Using your calculated TDEE and the meals you’ve designed (breakfast and mains meals) select one or two breakfasts and one or two main meals that you’ll be happy eating for the coming week.
- Create a shopping list with all the ingredients for your weeks meals, this will stop you from buying everything in the store that catches your eye! Ensure you buy 3-4 tupperware boxes for storage as well as freezable food bags. These will allow you to do your weeks worth of cooking on a Sunday and you’ll be set for the week 🙂
- Set aside between 2-4 hours (depending on what you’re cooking) to cook all your main meals and any breakfasts that require cooking for the coming week using the tupperware and food bags to separate and store portions. In general breakfasts should be simple enough to make in the morning but for any more complex breakfasts prepare them either at the same time as mains or the night before.
Creating your dream body requires a little bit of planning but it’s more than worth the result, once you’ve got your plan together for your meals you’re ready to get started! ?
